Alongside Schütz and Schein, Samuel Scheidt, who was born in Halle in 1587 and died there in 1654, is one of the ‘three great Sch's’ of the early Baroque period. His cycle Liebliche Krafft Blümlein consists of a total of twelve continuo-accompanied duets based on religious texts. Scheidt knows how to draw the audience's attention entirely to the dialogue between the two vocal parts, precisely because of the minimal instrumentation. The Collegium Instrumentale of St. Gallen Cathedral released the world premiere recording of the collection in 2023.
