Open Monuments Day

This year’s Open Monuments Day is taking place under the theme ‘NetzWERKE: Monuments & Infrastructure’. Organised by the German Foundation for Monument Protection, this nationwide day of action invites visitors to take a stroll through the past. In keeping with the ‘NetzWERKE’ theme, the Wilhelm-Friedemann-Bach-Haus is focusing on Halle as a hub of musical connections. The exhibition ‘Halle: City of Music’ tells the stories of composers such as George Frideric Handel and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, whose lives were shaped by the city and its cultural networks.

The museum can be visited free of charge on Heritage Open Day. In addition, special guided tours of the exhibition and the 16th-century Bohlenstube are on offer.
