The opera house is the venue of the opera and ballet sections of Leipzig Opera. The opera house is located in Leipzig city centre on Augustusplatz, opposite the Gewandhaus. It was built in 1954–1960 in the neo-classical style to a design by Kunz Nierade and
Kurt Hemmerling.

The MS Händel 2 is part of the fleet owned by the ARONA shipping company. Built in 2000, the boat measures 32.74 metres in length and 6 metres in width.
