International Museum Day will take place for the 48th time in 2025. It is organised annually by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). In Germany, International Museum Day is coordinated nationwide by the German Museums Association and implemented in close cooperation with the museum associations and offices of the federal states at regional level as well as local museums. The aim of Museum Day is to draw attention to museums in Germany and around the world and to invite visitors to discover the diversity of museums. Museum Day is supported by ICOM Germany.
This year, International Museum Day is under the patronage of the President of the Federal Council, Anke Rehlinger. The German Museums Association provides information about the day of action under #MuseenEntdecken.
