In the 18th century, the cimbalom - a hammered dulcimer struck with clappers, then called a pantaleon - was very well known in Saxony and played an important role in the development process of the fortepiano. It was even an integral part of the great baroque court chapels in Dresden, as well as in Vienna. The name goes back to the Eisleben-born Pantaleon Hebenstreit, whose hammered dulcimer playing was famous throughout Europe in the 18th century and who also built and further developed this special musical instrument himself. Enikő Ginzery's concert cimbalom draws on these developments. The Slovakian cymbalom virtuoso Enikő Ginzery studied the instrument at the conservatory in her native city of Bratislava and then at the "Ferenc Liszt Academy" in Budapest. Postgraduate studies in "Contemporary Music" led her to the "Hochschule für Musik Saar". Her career promises what her concerts deliver - a variety of different repertoires from early to contemporary music. She is an internationally sought-after musician as a solo performer as well as a soloist with orchestras such as the SWR Symphony Orchestra Freiburg and chamber music ensembles such as Klangforum Wien. Enikő Ginzery is accompanied by her compatriot Agnesa Ferienčíková on the harpsichord. She also studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She is a member of various early music ensembles and has collaborated with the Slovak National Theater and other important cultural institutions.
