It's Session Time ! Jazz Summer at the Handel House

The University Big Band is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. After its anniversary concert at the "Women in Jazz" festival, the band will set off on a tour of the U.S. to the Savannah/Georgia region in the fall. Quasi on the way there, the band will make another stop in the cozy courtyard of the Handel House and is looking forward to adding another one to the tradition of numerous wonderful concerts in this special atmosphere.

The big band, which previously played under its founder Hartmut Reszel, is based at the Institute of Music, Media and Speech Studies/Department of Music Education. Since 2019, Michael Lieb has been involved in the leadership and will take it over in the future. The repertoire includes jazz and pop standards as well as original compositions. The Uni-Bigband has performed all over Germany, in some European countries as well as Brazil and has been on stage with numerous national and international stars. The band has recorded several CDs and has been a guest on various radio and TV productions.
