Handel’s work in London and, a century later, the voyages of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy resulted in many a musical exchange between England and the Halle/Leipzig region. The London Festival Chorus and Denkmalchor Leipzig under the baton of Philipp Goldmann remind us of this historical connection with choral works by both composers and the cantata BWV 137 by Johann Sebastian Bach.
