Coming Out

In Coming Out (1989, GDR), film director Heiner Carow tells the story of a young teacher, Philipp Klarmann, who is torn between his relationship with the pregnant Tanja and his love for his friend Matthias. In an emotional and courageous process of self-discovery, he finally comes out in a society in which homosexuality is taboo. This multi-award-winning film is a courageous plea for tolerance and individuality in difficult times.
