Following the successful premiere in March, we would like to return to a fascinating repertoire of dances. This can be found in the early Baroque street dances from England – made familiar to a wider audience by Jane Austen – and the branles from France.
The dance master: Mark Frenzel has been captivated by historical dances from the early Renaissance to the early Baroque for over 30 years. He has been teaching historical dance in Halle for many years. Since 2005, he has organised the Playford Ball, a major historical ball in Halle. What you’ll need: Good flexibility, loose-fitting clothing and, ideally, dance or gymnastics shoes. Breaks: Water, tea and coffee will be provided. You are welcome to bring snacks for everyone.
