The Sound of Historical Keyboard Instruments
Shortly before 1700, instrument-builder Bartolomeo Cristofori developed a kind of hybrid between a harpsichord and a clavichord – the fortepiano. As historical keyboard instruments from the times of Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann are played, we get an insight into the sound of music in times gone by and hear stories about the close relationship between keyboard music and instrument-building.
With Christiane Barth (Handel House Foundation Museum director) and Albrecht Hartmann (pianist)
