With heart-rending, elegiac melodies, tumultuous rhythms and enthusiastic experimentation, the band Appaloosa develops a whole new musical offering of compositions by George Frideric Handel based on arrangements by their saxophonist, Sandrine Ramamonjisoa. In their compositions, the five young musicians with links to the Nuremberg Music University take a critical look at the subject of digital and industrial progress in relation to the environment and its transience. The band won the 2022 Next Generation Women in Jazz Prize and in 2023 the City of Halle Jazz Prize.
