Piangerò meets pop song, Handel meets Madonna. Wagner, Barbara, Piaf, Kurt Weill, Nena and Nina Hagen all come together in this programme: the internationally acclaimed ensemble Virévolte led by the classically trained singer Aurore Bucher crosses genre lines and creates a breathtaking mixture of traditional folk, classical virtuosity, cool jazz sounds and kitschily melancholic pop songs. From John Dowland, Richard Wagner and Elvis Presley through to France Gall, the programme features some well-known names.
