"My Soul Hears in Seeing", as it says in Handel’s “Nine German Arias.” This somewhat paradoxical phrase serves as the starting point for an unusual film evening. While film and music have always been closely intertwined, the image is usually the primary medium to which the music is added. Shortly after the invention of sound film, however, the first works emerged that took the opposite approach and visualized existing music .Films spanning a century will bring to life just how varied and astonishing the results can be.
