Wilhelm Friedemann Bach House is one of the most important Renaissance houses in the city of Halle and was the place of residence of J. S. Bach’s eldest son. Well worth a visit, the Musikstadt Halle (“Halle, the City of Music”) exhibition on the first floor offers an informative and entertaining journey through time, tracing the history of music in Halle from the Middle Ages to the present day. In the perfectly conserved wood-panelled Bohlenstube, you can admire valuable musical instruments dating from the mid-sixteenth century.
