Liebliche Töne erklingen Sweet notes sound – this line from the song anthology Norwegische Frühlingsnacht by Robert Franz is the motto bannering this garden promenade concert. The Halle-born composer, who worked in the city on the Saale as music director of the university and conductor of the Singakademie and adapted the works of the great Baroque artists to suit contemporary taste, composed around 279 songs, among other genres. And some of his most beautiful works will be sung in the Botanical Garden. The University Choir Halle, Pfeiferstuhl Music Halle and the team of the Botanical Garden have been delighting festival visitors with these promenade concerts since 2006. This year, you will be able to hear the Johann Friedrich Reichardt University Choir Halle again, supported by soloists and the Telemannisches Collegium Michaelstein, on 3 June (s. V. 37).
