Canadian singer Helen Charlston recently got proof in black and white that she has a voice worthy of Handel when she won first prize in the Handel Singing Competition 2018 in London. In Halle, she will not only be performing in the Lunchtime Concert, but also in the performance of Handel’s Venceslao on June 16 (n° 67).
The London Handel Singing Competition has long been a springboard for international singing careers. Held annually since 2002, the final concert always takes place in G. F. Handel's parish church of St. George on Hanover Square. In 2019, a prize winner of the previous year’s competition will again be presenting a Lunchtime Concert in Halle.
Following a successful start in 2018, the Handel House Foundation is pursuing this new partnership between the two Handel festivals of London and Halle.
