The longstanding stage and costume designer of Halle Opera, Bernd Leistner (1983 Handel Prize winner), can look back over a 40-year-long career with the theatre. His 18 years alone as stage director at Halle Opera have given rise to a large collection of sketches, drawings, models and drafts. Of particular note are 14 works for performances of works by Handel. These, as well as paintings, graphic works and collages from recent times, are presented in this special exhibition.
