Händel im Herbst

The "small" Handel Festival 2020 is cancelled.

On October 28, 2020, the Minister Presidents and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany decided on nationwide far-reaching measures for the period from November 2 to 30, 2020. For this reason, and due to the 2nd Ordinance amending the 8th SARS-CoV-2 Containment Ordinance adopted by the State Government of Saxony-Anhalt on October 30, 2020, Handel will have to be cancelled in the fall. For refunds of tickets already purchased in advance, please contact the respective organizer.

Internationally renowned artists of baroque music prepare for the upcoming Handel Festival on a long weekend in November.
The "Händel im Herbst" days in 2010 are preceded by a pre-concert. Stars such as Andreas Scholl and Philippe Jaroussky performed here. This was supplemented by a revival of the Handel opera production of the Oper Halle. This was offered by Stadtmarketing Halle (Saale) GmbH as a travel arrangement under the title "Händel im Herbst".
In 2013 the Handel Festival had to be cancelled at short notice in June due to a flood disaster.
Further events were arranged around the planned pre-concert and opera performance in November under the festival title "Händel im Herbst" in order to express our gratitude for the support following the cancellation of the festival. This met with such a positive response that since then the small Handel Festival" has been held with growing national interest. The centre of "Händel im Herbst" is formed by one or two special gala concerts with internationally outstanding musicians.
Since 2013, these have included Les Arts Florissant under William Christie, Magdalena Kožená, Vivica Genaux and Simone Kermes as well as the La Cetra Baroque Orchestra Basel under Andrea Marcon and Concerto Köln. In 2018, "Handel in Autumn" has been given its own independent word-image trademark.
