The museums of the Handel House Foundation are closed from November 2 to 30, 2020
On October 28, 2020, the Minister Presidents and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany decided on nationwide far-reaching measures for the period from November 2 to 30, 2020. For this reason, the museums of the Handel House Foundation will be closed and all planned events during this period will have to be cancelled. All November dates of the lecture series "Musik hinterfragt" and "Seniorenkolleg" will be rescheduled. The alternative dates for "Musik hinterfragt" will be announced at a later date. The dates of the "Seniorenkolleg" will be postponed to the new year 2021. The tickets thus remain valid. An application for refund is possible. The "Schallspiele alternativ", the "Podium Junger Talente" and the "Kammermusik der Staatskapelle Halle" have unfortunately to be cancelled.
Your safety in the museum
We are very pleased to welcome you again to the Handel House from Thursday, May 7, 2020, with its two permanent exhibitions "Handel - the European" and "Historical Musical Instruments" as well as the annual exhibition "Meine Seele sieht im Hören - Handel's operas, Oskar Hagen and the visual power of music".
The opening is of course in compliance with the applicable hygiene and distance regulations. In addition to extensive signage and the provision of disinfectant as well as the adaptation of the guidance systems, a maximum visitor limit was set for each exhibition room.
In our museum we offer a tour which leads in a given direction through the two floors of the Händel exhibition and the musical instrument exhibition. This tour begins with a "touch-free" audio guide via loudspeakers through the Handel exhibition. During this audio tour, the films "Handel - the European" and a film about Handel's operatic works in the miniature theatre are automatically switched on. The tour is switched on every 13 minutes for individual visitors and groups of two or for visitors belonging to a household. It is also available in English, French, Italian and Spanish. The tour principle gives the "stream of visitors" a rhythm and ensures that you will not meet in these rooms.
Please also note that there is a general obligation to wear masks throughout the house. We hope you will understand that we cannot receive visitors* in the museum without a mask. Please also prepare yourself for the fact that you will have to fill out an attendance form if you are ordered to do so by the authorities.
The historic "Bohlenstube" will remain closed during the week, but you are welcome to take a look inside. On Saturdays and Sundays it can even be entered under certain conditions.
The sound studio is unfortunately not allowed to be entered for the time being.
The Wilhelm-Friedemann-Bach-Haus will unfortunately remain closed for the time being. We are currently preparing everything for an early opening.
The library of the Handel House Foundation opens on Tuesday and Friday: 10 am - 1 pm and 3 - 5 pm. Orders are also accepted by telephone on 0345 / 500 90 -251 or -254 and by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For further questions about your visit to the Handel House, please contact 0345 / 500 90 103 or email@example.com.
We look forward to your visit! You are very welcome!
